MAURICE O’SHEA AWARD AND NEW MCWILLIAM’S EXCELLENCE IN ACTION AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED AT FIRST-EVER AUSTRALIAN WINE INDUSTRY AWARDS

Adelaide, South Australia: The winners of the prestigious Maurice O’Shea Award and the new McWilliam’s Excellence in Action Award were unveiled in a special ceremony on Sunday evening, marking a new era for the triennial industry event. 

Winemaker and consultant Pamela Dunsford OAM received this year’s Maurice O’Shea Award in honour of her 40-year-plus contribution to the Australia Wine Industry. For the new McWilliam’s Excellence in Action Award, the trophy went to the Australian Women In Wine Awards (AWIWA) for their dedicated focus on championing the work of women in the Australian wine community.

McWilliam's Wines, a winery synonymous with premium fortified wines, is unveiling its special selection of aged Tawny wines under a new-look Hanwood Estate range. From June, the Riverina-based winery will commence the release of its Classic (5-Year), Grand (10-Year), Rare (20-Year) and Very Rare (30-Year) Aged Tawny, showcasing some of the finest and distinct fortified releases in McWilliam’s winemaking history.

McWilliam's Wines has claimed a place as one of The World’s Most Admired Wine Brands, making its debut on Drinks International’s annual list at #45 alongside a growing number of familiar Australian wine producers. 

The World’s Most Admired Wine Brands is a prestigious list of the 50 most loved and respected wine brands globally. Now in its 12th year, the annual list is decided by an academy of top retailers, sommeliers, buyers and Masters of Wine from six continents.
