McWilliam’s Bagtown Jack the Maverick Red Blend

When J.J. McWilliam first planted vineyards in the region in 1913, Griffith (then named Bagtown) was far from civilisation, an area of great hardship, yet limitless opportunity.

Jack McWilliam “The Maverick” danced to his own beat – challenging convention and accepted thought at every turn. His legacy of independence and creativity has helped make McWilliam’s the relentless pioneer it is today. The McWilliam’s Bagtown “Maverick” Red Blend is a complex and intriguing wine, packed with dark berry flavours, exotic spice and subtle smoky oak characters.

Aromas of plush blackberry and spicy cherry plums dominate

Lifted red berries with hints of vanillin oak round out the palate to provide great length and texture. Balanced acidity, hints of cherry chocolate and lush soft tannins finish this wine beautifully.
