97 points – McWilliam’s 1877 Canberra Shiraz 2015
‘Hand-picked, 5 days cold soak, open-fermented, up to 50% whole bunches, 14 days on skins, matured for 9 months in French puncheons (35% new). Fragrance and elegance personified. Juicy cherry fruit opens proceedings, then mouthwatering acidity and fine-grained tannins draw out the lingering finish. Amen.’

95 points – Single Vineyard Glenburnie Tumbarumba Chardonnay 2014
‘Hand-picked, destemmed, open-fermented, matured in a mix of French hogsheads (35% new) and used barrels for 16 months. Bright straw-green; this wine is all about its striking natural acidity that in turn has kept the pH low. This is why its colour has barely changed, and from which the pink grapefruit, Meyer lemon and white peach draw their freshness. It’s taken almost 3 years for the wine to achieve the balance it now has, and the waiting time has been done for you.’

95 points – Single Vineyard Block 19 & 20 Hilltops Cabernet Sauvignon 2014
‘Destemmed, open-fermented, 14 days on skins, airbag-pressed, matured in French oak (35% new) for 16 months. Excellent crimson-purple; one of those rare full-bodied cabernets that calm the taster as it rests easily in the mouth, allowing the exploration of the blackcurrant and bay leaf fruit that is framed by ripe tannins and cedary oak. The keyword is balance.’

91 points – Hanwood Estate 1913 Touriga 2016
‘Destemmed into an open fermenter for a 3-day cold soak, then warmed for an 8-day ferment, matured in used French oak for 15 months. Very attractive juicy red fruit aromas and flavours supported by superfine tannins. Drink for its novelty or its quality – you get both for the same price’.
