Date for 2012 McWilliam's Maurice O'Shea Award Dinner Announced

McWilliam’s Wines is pleased to announce the 2012 McWilliam’s Maurice O’Shea Award will be held in Melbourne on Tuesday, 23 October 2012.

The dinner will be held in conjunction with the Winemakers’ Federation of Australia’s Wine Outlook Conference.

This year’s dinner will see a fresh approach to both the award and the event. In 2012, nominations will be invited from across the entire industry so that anyone who wishes to nominate can do so by simply sending their nomination in confidence to nominations@mcwilliamswines.com.au (nominations will be open until 31 July 2012).

Established in 1990 to pay homage to the memory of legendary Mount Pleasant founder, the late Maurice O’Shea, the McWilliam’s Maurice O’Shea Award Dinner is widely regarded as the most prestigious event on the wine industry calendar.

The McWilliam’s Maurice O’Shea Award recognises an individual, brand, institute or entity which has made a historically significant contribution to the Australian Wine Industry. As the McWilliam’s Maurice O’Shea Award is not an award that simply recognises industry service, nominations are invited based on the above criteria, with historically significant achievements that have benefited the entire industry.

This year’s dinner will see a modern, contemporary approach to the event which will be held at The Whitehouse Institute of Design in Melbourne.

Bookings and enquiries can be made by contacting Gemma Pyne on (02) 9722 1200 or email events@mcwilliamswines.com.au
