McWilliam’s Wines is proud to announce our recent success at the International Wine Challenge held in London. Our McWilliam’s Flagship ‘1877’ Hilltops Shiraz 2014 received the prestigious Australian Shiraz trophy, awarded to the Best Australian Shiraz at the show.

Winemaking Manager Bryan Currie described the wine as “the ultimate expression of Hilltops and New South Wales Shiraz; fragrant, spicy, medium bodied and elegant”. He was thrilled to hear the results saying “the McWilliam’s wines team are excited and immensely proud that ‘1877’ has won recognition as the Best Australian Shiraz!”

Since 1877, the McWilliam’s Family has pioneered and championed the very best of New South Wales wines. Our Flagship ‘1877’ Hilltops Shiraz celebrates this legacy in the emerging cool climate region of Hilltops. Taking it’s name from our foundation year, ‘1877’ is the pinnacle of our winemaking and the result of six consecutive generations of McWilliam’s family winemakers.

McWilliam’s Flagship 1877 Hilltops Shiraz 2014 also received the New South Wales Shiraz trophy, the Hilltops Shiraz trophy and a gold medal upholding McWilliam’s commitment and dedication to showcasing premium cool climate wines from New South Wales.

McWilliam’s Flagship 842 Tumbarumba Chardonnay 2013 also received a silver medal at the IWC which will be added to a long list of awards including three trophies, seven gold medals and three silver medals all awarded last year.

Our Flagship wines are currently available from the McWilliam’s Online Cellar Door or at all good wine retailers.
